Shower Me With Your Love

Aunt Kelly had a baby shower for cousin Ben who is coming in August. I gave him my favorite book, Dog. I spent most of the shower playing with wrapping paper and the gifts for baby Ben. It was fun to spend a day with the girls and it is hard to believe that cousin Ben will be here in only a couple months.

Life is a zoo!

I am really enjoying my zoo season pass. Daddy and I went with Noah and Steve on Saturday morning. We saw the polar bears and bonobos. I am starting to learn my way around the zoo and can find my favorite exhibits. I guess they are right - practice makes perfect!

Party Time!

My birthday party was a blast! There was a time capsule that people brought items to put in and, of course, there were lots of presents. Noah Gracey, the Kearns boys - Thomas and Will and even little baby Ellie (Kearns) were there to help me celebrate. It was nice to look at all the old pictures of me. I can't believe how much I have changed! My artwork from school was also on display. It was a great day, even if I didn't eat any of my cake. I bet next year's party will be even bigger and better!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I am one year old now! On my birthday I had to go to the doctor for my check-up and I found out I am 29 1/2 inches long (60th percentile) and 20 lbs 2 oz (40th percentile). Unfortunately, I also had to get some shots but I took it like a big girl and I didn't even cry when they pricked my toe! After that I went to the zoo with mommy and daddy. It started to rain but we did get to see the big gorilla. Granny and Papa Hewett came to see me and brought lots of presents. I got a package from my cousin Simon in California too and made sure to show Granny what he sent -stackable nesting blocks. It was nice to get so much attention on my special day. I can't believe it's already been a year!

Music Centre

Daddy and mommy took me to a Centre in Cincinnati event. Centre College is where they went to school and met. This event had some Centre students, including one of mommy's former students, playing and singing Bluegrass music. I loved it, especially the banjo! I really like music and sat there listening for two full sets. Nobody could believe that a baby was so well behaved. It was a lot of fun to hear such great music.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

I went to see my first Reds game and I did it in style! I got to watch the game from the Taft skybox so the 85 degree heat didn't bother me. The Reds lost the game but that's okay I spent most of the day cheering for the Braves. I think Granny, Papa and Uncle Jack would be proud!

Making Friends with the Bees

Don't worry, these Bees don't sting! Daddy, mommy and I went to visit the Bees in their new house in Oxford. Daddy is friends with Greg at work and he and his wife, Sarah, have two daughters, Allie - four and Eden - almost two. We played a lot and Allie made sure to be a great big sister and Eden was nice enough to share her "baby" toys with me. Allie dyed eggs for us after Eden and I went to bed and the Easter Bunny even knew to deliver my basket to their house. Daddy fixed French Toast for everyone the next morning. It was great to spend my first Easter with new friends!
